About Our Community Initiatives

At TwoHearts, we believe communities become stronger when the people supporting others feel confident, informed, and supported themselves. Support workers, providers, families, and community organisations are often the first to respond when someone is experiencing mental health distress or crisis.

Our community initiatives are designed to strengthen the wider community services sector by providing practical programs that help organisations, support workers, and individuals respond to complex mental health situations with greater confidence, clarity, and care.

Respond, Not React – Crisis Support Training

Respond, Not React – Crisis Support Training equips NDIS support workers and community service professionals with the skills needed to confidently support participants experiencing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or mental health crises.

The training focuses on practical strategies that help workers remain calm, communicate effectively, and respond in ways that reduce escalation while supporting stabilisation where appropriate. The goal is to help workers feel prepared, capable, and supported when navigating challenging situations.

Crisis Response Program

The Crisis Response Program provides structured support when a participant is experiencing significant distress, instability, or a mental health crisis.

The program focuses on stabilisation, coordination of supports, and practical strategies that assist providers and support teams to safely navigate complex situations. By working alongside existing services and supports, the program helps strengthen the overall response around the participant during difficult periods.

NDIS Access Support Program

The NDIS Access Support Program helps people living with mental health challenges understand and navigate the process of accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The program provides guidance to help individuals understand the access requirements, gather supporting evidence, and move through the application process with greater clarity and confidence.
